Whether your in school and wanting to try a program as a possible career or part time work opportunity or your in the work force already and wanting to enhance skills for career development or change, we may be able to provide the course you need with funding assistance from the Queensland Government. We can offer eligible students funding options for the following programs:

    • SIS20419 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation

– VETiS funding (school students)

– JobTrainer Fund

    • SIS20319 Certificate II in Sport Coaching

– VETiS funding (school students)

    • AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot)

– VETiS funding or Certificate 3 Guarantee funding (post school)

VET in Schools (VETiS)

VET in schools (VETiS) is a Nationally Recognised Training program that is available to secondary school students (Grades 10, 11 and 12) who can explore a career path by enrolling in our courses. VETiS programs are VET programs that are delivered in schools with the Certificate 3 Guarantee (VETiS) funding by the Queensland Government covering the entire training cost of the program, that means NO training cost for an great program!

JobTrainer Fund Opportunities

JobTrainer is a Queensland Government Initiative, it provides funding support for job seekers, school leavers and young people to access the skills and training they need to find work, re-enter the labour market or explore new work opportunities available as Queensland’s economy recovers. This funding opportunity allows AGI to provide the:

 

    •   Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation with Snorkel and SCUBA electives including International diving license at NO cost. WOW!

 

The JobTrainer fund programs are for young people (17-24 years of age) or unemployed people (15 years or older), who have finished or left secondary school, not currently enrolled in any VET qualifications and not completed a JobTrainer funded qualification. You will need to be a Queensland resident and Australian Citizen or Australian permanent resident or temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency or a New Zealand citizen.

VETiS funding criteria:

    • Australian/ New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (or on pathway to permanent residency) presently residing in Queensland
    • Enrolled in a Queensland school, grades 10, 11 and 12,
    • Aged 15 years old and over
    • Not completed or presently undertaking a program from the VETiS stream funded list.

 

Our VETiS programs focus on delivering qualifications that provide school students with the skills and knowledge required for employment in recreation, sport and tourism industries.

AGI Qualifications available with VETiS funding to eligible school students:

    • SIS20419 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation with snorkel and SCUBA skill sets
    • AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot)

You are eligible for JobTrainer funding if:

To be eligible to enrol in our SIS20419 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation qualification funded under JobTrainer you must:

    • permanently reside in Queensland, and
    • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen, and
    • have finished school or no longer be at school (including home schooled), and
    • not already be enrolled in training (includes VET and higher education courses), and
    • not have previously completed a qualification funded under the JobTrainer Fund, and
    • either be a job seeker or a school leaver or young person.

What is the definition of a job seeker?

A job seeker means an individual aged 15 years or older who is:

    • out of work, or
    • receiving income support payments

Evidence of the participant being a job seeker can be satisfied through:

    • Evidence of income support payments from Centrelink
    • Evidence the participant is in receipt of support from a JobActive, Disability Employment Services or Community Development provider
    • Declaration by the student that they are unemployed. Acceptable evidence includes a signed enrolment form or other pre-enrolment documentation allowing students to declare employment status and make an informed decision on eligibility.

What is the definition of a school leaver or young person?

A school leaver or young person means an individual who is aged 17 to 24 years, regardless of their employment status.

Evidence of school leaver or young person status:

    • Documented evidence of the prospective student’s age (e.g. drivers license, birth certificate)
    • Declaration specifying they are no longer at school

Eligibility for Certificate 3 Guarantee:

  • be a Queensland resident
  • be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
  • not hold, or be enrolled in, a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training).
