A recent study revealed that the global market for drone-powered business solutions was valued at $127.3 billion in 2016. Technology is driving rapid advances in drone capabilities and applications having a profound impact on our lives and workplaces. This program is designed to maximize latest technology and hands on practical flying with innovative interactive on line learning systems that combine to deliver you the best outcomes. The program is focused on job outcomes where drones usage will rapidly expand over the next decade and the need for quality commercial drone pilots. Drones are presently being used, and as per the Federal Government paper (2020) on the future of drones, will see a rapid expansion of application and data management associated with drones in many fields such as agriculture, construction, mining, conservation, search and rescue, security and border control, transport, logistics management, law enforcement, defense and more with many innovative applications yet to be developed, now that’s exciting!

This exciting qualification is relevant to the role of a Remote Pilot – You will learn to apply non-technical and technical knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and will take limited responsibility in known and stable operational contexts within established regulatory parameters
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However AGI will ask students who are not in school to complete an Language, literacy and Numeracy (LLN) questionnaire before commencement to assist our staff to propose reasonable adjustments if required to the training delivery taking into account the learner’s LLN.

The completion time-frame for this qualification is 10 to 12 months
Durations may vary between new learners and those who have recognised previous aviation qualifications or UAV experience.
VET in schools (VETiS) is a Nationally Recognised Training program that is available to secondary school students (Grades 10, 11 and 12) who can explore a career path by enrolling in our courses. VETiS programs are VET programs that are delivered in schools with the Certificate 3 Guarantee (VETiS) funding by the Queensland Government covering the entire training cost of the program.
VETiS eligibility criteria:
- Australian/ New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (or on pathway to permanent residency) presently residing in Queensland
- Enrolled in a Queensland school, grades 10, 11 and 12,
- Aged 15 years old and over
- Not completed or presently undertaking a program from the VETiS stream funded list.
Eligibility for Certificate 3 Guarantee:
- be a Queensland resident
- be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
- not hold, or be enrolled in, a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training).
The Certificate III in Aviation – Remote Pilot with CASA RePL and Radio Operator License:
• VETiS Funding Option ( VET in Schools): NO TRAINING COST for eligible students.
• Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy (Non-school):
o Co-contribution fee paid by student $90 per unit (total for 14 units $1260)
o Concessional Co-contribution fee $60 per unit (total for 14 units $840)
Co-contribution fee payments will be invoiced and payment required to confirm enrolment.
• Fee for Service $3,800.00
