Certificate III in Sport and Recreation course description:

This qualification reflects the multi-skilled role of individuals in the sport or recreation industry. These individuals are competent in a range of activities and functions requiring autonomous work within a defined range of situations and environments. This program develops a sound foundation with industry operational knowledge and builds on that sound base with exciting SCUBA skills set development.

Generally people with this qualification may work fitness centres, sporting grounds or complexes, leisure and aquatic centres and community recreation centres.  In the scuba application the recreational facility is your AISR provider full service dive facility.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification however PADI course prerequisites may exist and pre-dive fitness requirements, these will be assessed by your local AISR provider.

Duration: The normal duration of this program is 2 to 6 months, however program lengths will vary to students own self-study commitment and training plan arrangments including fulltime training practical component. The program consists of cluster sections; self study, AISR face to face and online, PADI SCUBA learning with workbooks and online, and practical training conducted in facility and in water. As our course learning content and assessments are written to facilitate and maximise a diving outcome, a number of our units commence and run along with the PADI diving component. This clustering produces excellent outcomes for the student that industry requires and also reduces duplications and time frames.
